AI Agent
An AI agent is a software system that uses information and available tools to take actions toward a goal.
What does it mean?
An agent does more than generate an answer: it can choose a next step, use a tool and assess the result. Its ability to act depends on the tools, permissions and boundaries set by its developers. Not every chatbot is an agent.
Why does it matter in hospitality?
In a hotel, an agent might help route a service request through an approved system. Staff oversight, clear permissions and confirmation for consequential actions matter. The term alone does not mean a product can make bookings or access guest records.
